How do I extend my loan period?
  • Extend the loan period using the collection search system of Taichung Public Library:
    1. Please go to the website of Taichung Public Library and click on the shortcut button (collection search) on the right and access the collection search system.
    2. Click on the [Login] button in the upper right corner of the page and enter your account and password and click [Login].
    3. Click on [My Library] -> [Borrow History- Borrowed Books] and on the borrowing list, click the [Extend Borrowing] button to extend your loan period (if someone else has reserved the book, extension will not be available).
    4. The new due date will be calculated starting from the date on which the extension is made.
  • Extend the loan period using the Taichung Public Library APP:
    1. Use your smartphone or tablet and download the “Taichung Public Library” APP on the Android or iOS platform.
    2. After entering the APP, please [Login] with your account and password.
    3. Click on [My Library] -> [Borrowed Books] and click the [Extend Borrowing] button in front of the book name to extend your loan period (if someone else has reserved the book, extension will not be available).
    4. The new due date will be calculated starting from the date on which the extension is made.
  • Extend the loan period at the library: Please bring your Library Card to any branch of Taichung Public Library to extend your loan period.
  • IV. Note:
    1. If someone else has reserved the book, extension will not be available.
    2. Personnel with a Family Library Card or a Personal Library Card can extend the loan period three times. The loan period will be extended for 30 days from the date on which the extension is made. Readers with a Group Library Card cannot extend the loan period.
    3. We recommend that readers extend the loan period before the due date so that unexpected events such as system maintenance or Internet failure might happen and prevent you from extending the loan period successfully.
    4. According to Article 4, section 4 of the Regulations of the Library, extending the loan period through phone calls is not available.
