Service Hours:

• Unless specified otherwise, the service hours for the Library are: Tuesday to Saturday 8:30-21:00. Sunday 8:30-17:30.
• The service hours for Dadu Ruijing Branch, Shigang Branch, Wuqi Parent-child Branch, Xinshe Branch, Longjing Shanding Branch, Longjing Longjin Branch and Fengyuan Nansong Branch are: Tuesday to Sunday 8:30-17:30.
• The service hours for Dadun Branch are: Tuesday to Sunday 8:30-21:00 (the service hours for the Study Room: 8:00-21:00).

Late Return:

• The borrowing rights of people who return books or media materials late will be suspended according to the number of late days. If there is more than 2 book (piece of media material) that is returned late, the number will be accumulated. The limit of the suspension period is 180 days for each Library Card.
• The borrower may pay a fine to cancel out the suspension period. The fine is NT$1 for each late day. If the borrower has more than 2 book returned late, the fine will be accumulated. The limit of the fine is NT$180 for each Library Card.
• If you want to return books/media materials by mail, they shall be sent as registered packages. The date of the postmark will be deemed as the date of return.

Compensation for Lost/Damaged Books/Media Materials:

Readers borrowing books and media materials shall take good responsibility of keeping them. If the books/media materials are lost or damaged, you will have to make a compensation payment as follows:

• Purchase the same or newer edition of books and media materials. The media material shall be genuine.
• If you are not able to purchase it, you will have to make a compensation payment according to the following standards:
  1. If the item is priced in NT dollars, make a compensation payment of its listed price.
  2. If the price of the item is in “basic pricing”, make a compensation payment of 50 times the basic pricing.
  3. If the item is priced in foreign currency, the compensation amount will be the converted price using the exchange rate of the date.
  4. If the book you borrow is from a series of books and no price is listed for 1 single book, the compensation amount will be the average unit price.
  5. For a book where no price can be found, make a compensation amount of NT$1 per page in the book. For media material where no price can be found, the compensation amount will be NT$500.
• If you have paid the compensation for lost books/media materials and received a receipt, a refund will not be available.
• If you lose an attachment to an item, you can make compensation by purchasing the same attachment as the original. If you are not able to purchase it, you will have to make a compensation of the price for the whole package.

Regulations for Reading inside the Library:

• Please take care of your personal belongings or your personal books, school bag, and handbag. If any of your personal belongings are lost, the Library will not hold any responsibility for that.
• Please take care of the books, journals, equipment, and devices in the Library. Unless you have already performed the borrowing procedure, you are not allowed to bring anything belonging to the Library out. If any of the items are damaged, you shall be held responsible for the compensation.
• If a reader has a certifiable disease or is mentally ill, drunk, or not properly dressed and will harm the reading environment and order, he/she will not be allowed to enter the Library.
• Pets and dangerous items are not allowed in the Library. Unless permitted, no ads shall be posted, no fliers shall be delivered, and no sales activity shall be performed.
• To ensure the quality of the reading environment, you shall keep things clean in the Library. Besides, no smoking, food (except for certain areas), sleeping, playing, chasing, loud taking/laughing, and other bad behavior are allowed.
• Power charging for laptops and tablets is available in certain areas in the Library. If you need to charge your laptop or tablet, follow the librarian’s instructions to charge it at a fixed spot. We do not provide power charging services for any other personal electronic devices. For maintaining electrical safety, extension cords and plug adapters of your own are not allowed.
