Library Card Application

Personal Library Card:
  1. Application method: If you are a foreigner, please bring your ARC (Alien Resident Certificate) or passport to any branch of Taichung Public Library for the application. Only one person can apply for one Library Card. Your Library Card will expire if your duration of stay expires. Your EasyCard or iPASS can be used as a Personal Library Card after application.
  2. Borrowing limits: With your Personal Library Card, you are allowed to borrow 30 books and 6 pieces of media materials and reserve 6 books or media materials.
  3. Loan period for borrowed books: You can borrow regular books for 30 days and journals, comic books, and media materials for 14 days. If the book you have borrowed is not reserved by other people, you can extend the loan period three times.
  4. Personnel with a Library Card for Taichung Public Library can borrow books from the National Library of Public Information with their Card.
Family Library Card:
  1. Application method: Bring your Household Certificate to any branch of Taichung Public Library for the application. Only one household can apply for a Family Library Card.
  2. Borrowing limits: With your Family Library Card, you are allowed to borrow 60 books and 6 pieces of media materials and reserve 6 books or media materials.
  3. Loan period for borrowed books: You can borrow regular books for 30 days and journals, comic books, and media materials for 14 days. If the book you have borrowed is not reserved by other people, you can extend the loan period three times.
